Shoulder dislocation + surgery to 525kg total on the platform...
“At my most recent meet I had a great time today and was able to show the results of the work we've been doing for the last 2 years since my injury. I am very happy with my results and so pumped I could place and get a medal! 525kg isn't much at a national level, but I'm content with it and will keep working on improving my lifts with the help of Rori and PRS. Thank you so much for taking care of my shoulder at my lowest point, taking care of my programming, telling me it was RPE 6 when I write RPE 8, and for pushing me to be better every week.”
-Hugo Lopes Tavares, In-Person PT, Remote Barbell Coaching (New York, USA)
Navigating grad school, depression, and his first impromptu meet…
“My preparation for my meet was a little shorter due to deciding to do the meet about a month out, but I feel like my program did great to prepare me. My performance during the meet was fantastic. I hit the numbers I wanted to hit and even went above and beyond what I thought I could do. I had the biggest smile from the moment I stood up my final squat until now.”
-Luis Vaca Soto, Remote Barbell Coaching (Maryland, USA)
Complete novice, in pain, and in another country….
Maiken reached out to PRS because of a knee and chest injury preventing her from learning to barbell train and get stronger. “I got more confident as I now know that pain does not immediately mean I should not do the exercise. There are always ways to adapt to the exercise PRS’s method is simple as it focuses on not too many different exercises. It didn’t overwhelm me and the exercises are effective. Also, each training session makes me mentally stronger because I progress to heavier weights. PRS makes more sense than regular fitness. Now I feel strong, have no chest pain, and can walk normally again.”
-Maiken Tits, General Fitness, Remote Rehab (Estonia)
Helping a physical therapist & physique competitor navigate back pain so she could train her posterior chain effectively for competitions...
Mary came to PRS because she felt like she wasn’t addressing her problem specifically and the standard outpatient physical therapy she was receiving was the same treatment for the general population, but not an athlete. She felt PRS offered a very tailored approach addressing her specific needs as a barbell athlete and physique competitor more than the standard physical therapy she was already receiving. Mary said we were “very responsive and interactive and provided her with a really solid evaluation despite it being over video.” We helped Mary deadlift 200 lbs pain free so she can continue to lift and build her physique to compete in 2020.
-Mary Laugesen, Physique Competitor (Texas, USA)
Crossfit enthusiast, powerlifting competitor and mother of 3 heals a shoulder problem, reduces frustration, and hits PRs…
Bethany came to PRS because of a lack of Bench Press progress and chronic neck and shoulder pain. She was frustrated that coaches and healing professionals had been unable to help her identify the issue and address it globally. She came to PRS because we offered an integrative rehab and barbell strength training approach.
“PRS helped me achieve my goals by improving my form, but the most profound change that has happened since joining PRS is my increase in CONFIDENCE...Not only did my squat get much stronger, my squat confidence went through the roof, and that is everything when it comes to being competitive and pushing yourself. Even though I was fairly strong when I started working with PRS, my mental game was not...Adding 20 pounds over exactly one year at my age (40) and experience level...feels profound and certainly exceeded my expectations…. It's also worth noting that I somewhat unexpectedly qualified for USA Powerlifting Raw Nationals as a M1 athlete. All I have learned with PRS will undoubtedly help me continue reaching towards my lifetime goal of squatting 2x my bodyweight when the time comes.
Being part of PRS was crucial to all of these achievements. I am a working mother of two (now three) small children, and Rori 100% gets that powerlifting is not the only thing in my life and gives me incredibly efficient and effective programming. Her cuing and corrections even by video / email are outstanding and I really love being her remote client. ”

Years of SI joint pain unresolved by 2 prior physical therapists…
“Since 2014, I have been dealing with SI joint pain. I had seen two separate physical therapists over the span of two years with no real relief. After working with Rori and Progressive Rehab & Strength, I finally achieved two major goals: consistently lifting pain free and breaking 300 pounds in the deadlift. At a meet this past November, I successfully deadlifted 137.5kg (303.1 lb) for a personal record and it has all been pain free!”

Unhappy powerlifter finds progress and friendship in online coaching...
Weston came to PRS because he was looking for a coach that was attentive and took a personal interest in him rather than just being a programmer. He felt frustrated with the online coach he had been working with and never felt like he was getting what he was paying for. Weston says what he enjoys most about PRS is the “Personal touch to coaching, via: social media, whats app, weekly check in, and taking a personal interest in my life.” With PRS’s unique approach to online coaching and injury risk reduction, Weston put 25 kilos on his powerlifting total.

Finding balance and progress between strength training and physique...
Makeda came to PRS from a background in bodybuilding with the goal of getting stronger, building muscle mass, and improving her overall technique, while finding balance between two training styles: bodying building and strength training. Some of the things she values most about PRS is the, “very detailed process. I was very impressed with the videos, articles, google docs, social media etc. It was very structured and professional.” She realize PRS’s method of coaching was helping her transform through, “video sharing and receiving the feedback to correct things about my lifts that I did not realize I was doing or that I did not think was causing me to have a less effective training session.” Now, Makeda is more “confident in [her] lifts and technique,” and training independently for her current goals.
-Makeda Dudley, Powerbuilder (Florida, USA)
USAPL National Team Member with shoulder, back and adductor pain...
“After starting to work with Rori as a coach in April 2016, I won the USA Powerlifting Nationals and won a spot on the National Team for IPF Classic Worlds 2017. I experienced a serious shoulder injury in February 2017 tearing my labrum, full thickness rotator cuff tear and bursitis, and then in March I had a grade 2 adductor tear and was thinking I might not actually get to Worlds in June. Being able to work with Rori on a combination of PT and coaching not only got me back on the platform, but I won gold in squat and silver overall in the 52kg M2 division.”
What she likes most about PRS is “being able to use barbell training during my rehab.” Melissa says, “[I] now understand my injuries better and what I need to do to stay healthy. My technical form has improved across all lifts, so I am less at risk of injury in general.”
Melissa went on to compete under the coaching and rehab of PRS at USAPL Raw Nationals in 2017, and USAPL Bench Press and Raw Nationals in 2018, earning invitations to the world championships for both.

Regular grandmother with osteopenia, scoliosis, and knee arthritis turns recreational powerlifter...
Gina started with me in 2015 after her son bought her ONE session. Little did she know that 4 years later she’d be deadlifting 190lb at the age of 64 when she couldn’t even squat her own body weight on the first day! Seriously! Gina didn’t think she’d stick around so she never corrected me on pronouncing her name wrong on the first day. It’s actually pronounced “Gin-ah” (like the alcoholic beverage) short for Virginia. 4 years later I’m still calling her GEE-nah, as it’s her “Alter”-ego gym persona.
Check out Gina deadlifting 190lb here.
Gina wasn’t strong enough to squat, bench press, deadlift, and overhead press safely and effectively when we first started so we began with appropriate modifications. Over the 4 years we’ve worked together she’s competed in many meets for FUN and hit so many PRs! Today, she squats over 100lb for reps, deadlifts over 180lb for reps, overhead presses over 53lb for reps, and benches over 65lb for reps.
