Complex Case Studies

In this complex case, we review a client who came to Dr. Rori presenting with urinary incontinence while powerlifting. We discuss her pelvic floor consultation, her unconventional evaluation and treatment plan.

In this complex case, we discuss chronic-turn-acute knee pain in a hyper-sensitive powerlifter, identify the decision making process leading to referral for imaging and additional medical support, share an experience of pushback from the client and how to approach it, and present a client-guided end to a coaching relationship and how to end on a positive note.

In this complex case, we discuss a unique case of a powerlifter undergoing shoulder surgery while pregnant, present important client information and training history, review medical imaging reports and physcian recommendations, and detail prehab to surgey and rehab post-op all while growing a baby.

In this complex case, we review a client who returned to barbell training following a traumatic pectoralis major tear and subsequent achilles allograft surgery. We discuss this particular client’s post-op rehab, and overall PT outcome.

In this complex case, we review the client’s history and presentation at onset of coaching, understand unique components contributing to delayed outcomes, explain the coaching timeline and current status, and have a Q&A session.

In this complex case, we demonstrate that it is your job to guide the client to what is most appropriate for them based on their goals and abilities and provide a case series comparison. We then show how two clients presented with expectations of a particular path to reach their goals but then upon assessment, it was determined that they were better fit for something else.

In this complex case, we identify a common theme for the onset of injury in barbell training clients, discuss a phasic approach to barbell training with lumbar radiculopathy in an intermediate lifter, review specific exercise selection and prescription, and explain why certain changes happened at certain times.

In this complex case, we discuss the orthopedic and radiographic findings in combination with a PT assessment for a functional diagnosis of FAI, review a barbell approach that does not follow the typical path to hip "physical therapy", and identify key aspects of athlete monitoring specific to this individual that helped the rehab and return to sport process.

In this complex case, we conduct a live interview with a past PRS client who worked with Dr. Rori to help with upper extremity pain, weakness, and neck pain. It was decided that this client should first go for a consultation with a neurosurgeon as she likely needed surgery. After her surgery, she onboarded with PRS for rehab coaching and return to the powerlifting platform. During this interview, we discuss all of the elements of her injury, surgery, and rehab.
