PROGRAMMING FUNDAMENTALS:
How to Safely Program & Progress the Barbell Strength Athlete
Cart closes in:

Dr. Rori Alterâs barbell programming course guides you from a novice to programming savant in 12 weeks so you can confidently coach any lifter and take your career to the next level NOW.
Youâve contemplated taking your career to the next level.
You want to work with barbell athletes but you struggle to feel confident enough to solidify your niche because you lack the skills to design and progress a barbell program to:
â
Optimize their strength and muscular development
â
Reduce their injury risk
â
Help them set and achieve their short & long term goals
â
Keep them motivated to train
â
Improve their quality of life
â
Prepare them for some fun recreational or world-level powerlifting meets
Even though you've...
- Read a bunch of famous barbell programming books
- Been following the pioneers in the industry and read 95% of their articles and blogs
- Have played around with HLM, Texas Method, Cube, Conjugate, The Bridge and all the other popular templatesâŚ
You still struggle to know whatâs best, when to use what, and how to integrate it all together for the best and most individualized outcomes.
This has caused you to second guess your abilities and stopped you from taking the leap of faith to take your coaching career to the next level.
Fear of mistakes, endless years trying to âget it right,â and years making someone else money just to learn the lay of the land, stresses you out.
Aside from trial and error over many years, who would you turn to to check if youâre âdoing it right,â and fast track your knowledge-base so you can confidently take on and retain clients to build your business?
This thought process can paralyze you from ever taking the leap and developing the next phase of your career.
What you need is a:
â Systematic approach to putting all the pieces of the programming puzzle together
â All of the valuable content housed in one place instead of all over the internet
â A mentor so you stop second guessing yourself
â A compact educational system built around practical application, case studies, and information synthesis
â A way to fast track your programming abilities without spending years feeling like youâre just not getting it right
I'm going to teach you just that...a systematic way to:
1ď¸âŁ Start with a new client of any advancement
2ď¸âŁ Plan and progress their training based on their goals and the 4 Core Goals of the PRS System
3ď¸âŁ Develop an Athlete Monitoring System that is easy for your clients to use and you to analyze to assist inâŚ

HERE'S WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING:
Sarah Carr - Gym Owner & Coach
Justin Baharally, SPT & CPT
Rebecca Fishburne, SSC
âI have never had any formal education in the sport of powerlifting outside of Youtube videos, podcasts, and ebooks. Roriâs course was my first exposure to high level education regarding the sport. I took her course covering Barbell Technique and the course was like taking a human anatomy, biomechanics, and sports psychology class rolled into one...Her courses are worth every penny and you will not find anything like it! I highly recommend the PRS Blackboard to not only lifters but also coaches who want to better their craft.â
- Samantha Calhoun, USAPL 63kg National Champion
âRoriâs courses are well organized, easy to follow, dense with information, and useful to me as a lifter and coach. Her course presentation is clear and understandable, starting with the basics of terminology (more important than you might think!) and progressing all the way to advanced application. This could be very dry stuff, but Rori makes it interesting and immediately accessible. The knowledge I learned in her course has definitely helped me in my own lifting and coaching. Having Rori available to ask questions and being able to interact with other students in online discussion will add significant value.â
-Janet Loesel Sitar, CPU lifter, PRS online coaching client
âHer online course is the embodiment of all her years of learning wrapped into a pretty package with a bow on it. The best part is you will get to learn and work directly with her as you go through the course, which most other courses do not provide. If you want to learn from the best, then this is the place for you and it is worth every penny. I am lucky to call her a friend, mentor, and coach.â
-Weston Hirschauer, BS Kinesiology & Exercise Science, CSCS, USAPL lifter, PRS online coaching client
âTaking her course not only helped me clarify the mechanics in my own body, but also helped me expand my vocabulary to support and coach novice lifters in understanding the physics of the barbell movements from the beginning of their journey. I find Roriâs framework for explaining mechanics to be a very valuable reference point as a coach and an athlete.â
-Davi Cohen, USAPL Bench Press National Team, QueerTransStrengthNYC Coach, PRS in-person and online coaching and rehab client
âWhile seeking higher learning, I enrolled in one of Roriâs online courses. This classroom consisted of 10 weekly lectures that were very informative yet easy to digest. We covered everything from anatomy and physiology, to the breakdown of the big three; squat, bench, and deadlift. I was able to take this experience and apply it to my coaching clients. As soon as Rori announced another classroom type setting I immediately dropped her an email to sign me up. You donât want to miss out on learning from one of the best in the game!â
-Joseph James, AS, USPA Coach, Competitive Powerlifter, Owner/Coach at Counteract Training, PT Assistant Student
âRori does a great job at comparing different programming theories and providing rationale for decision making when developing programs for clients of all ability levels and backgrounds. Having the opportunity to consult with Rori one-on-one is a great way to receive feedback and advice on building programs for your clients and yourself.â
-Alyssa Haveson, DPT, CSCS, PRS Clinical Coach, USAPL National Team, 2-time IPF World Championship and 3-time Arnold Sports Festival competitor
Frequently Asked Questions
+ Do I have to attend each lecture live?
NOPE! I designed this course to be easily accessible to people with busy schedules, kids that rule their lives, and those operating in different time zones. As such, I schedule the Live Lectures at different days and times so everyone has an opportunity to attend at some point throughout the course. We record the lectures and Q&As, edit out the dead space and chit chat, and get it up for you on the website within 48 hours for you to view on your own time and watch as many times as you want. The cool thing is that all the lectures from the last cohort are up on the site already so if you know you canât attend a particular Live Lecture you can watch the old one and submit questions in advance that Iâll answer Live for you to review in the recording. I also timestamp everything so you can jump right to it!
+ Will I lose access when the 12 weeks is over?
You do not! You'll get one year of access to the course from the start date, but you can regain access to the course (and updated versions and material) by either signing up for another Blackboard course OR joining our Clinical Coach Membership program.
+ Is there an archive of the lectures?
All lectures are recorded and maintained on the site. This means you will have access to lectures from the cohorts before you as well as their Q&As. If you have lifetime access then youâll also have access to future updated recordings of lectures and Q&As as well as any new reading materials, videos, and research we add to the course.
+ When are the live lectures?
Once the class is full we poll our students for where they are located around the globe. We then try to schedule the lectures for âafter workâ hours in different time zones. The lectures generally fall on Wednesdays, Fridays or Saturdays. However, this is not definitive and is determined by the composition of the students in the course.
+ What is the weekly time commitment for the course?
We polled our pilot course of 19 students and found that the time commitment varies. The Live Lectures are 1.5 hours, however if you are watching the recordings, many people speed up the video to shorten the listening time. The readings we provide are great resources but not necessary that you read all of them before each lecture. They are resources and there to enhance your learning experience. We divide them into âhighly recommendedâ and âsuggestedâ so you know where to spend your time if you choose to do all the readings. Based on our poll, the time spent each week on the course if you track in real time with us, ranges from 2 hours to 5 hours.
+ Iâm not coaching anyone yet. Is the course okay if I donât have any clients?
YES! What better way to start your career than with the upfront knowledge to help you maximize your clients goals, reduce the injury risk, and keep them in the game long term? Not only will this course give you the TOOLS you need to be successful off the bat instead of spending years trying to figure it all out, but it will also lead to RAVING fans because your clients will be so happy with their results. Business will boom from referrals! The best marketing source!
+ What if I canât complete the course with the 12 week tract?
Totally okay! For the 3 months after the last live lecture I dedicate 1 day a month to grading exams for those who did not complete them on time. If you submit exams after the 3 months I will grade them in the next round of courses when I grade exams. Also, depending on when you sign up you have lifetime access or 6 months access so you have time to finish the course!
+ Why are there exams?
When I created my online courses I designed exams into them for two reasons: 1) Iâve taken multiple online courses without exams and I never felt like I got everything I could have out of the course because nothing forced me to think critically and assess if I was processing the information or not; 2) The courses culminate in a certification for coaches or credential for clinicians so the exams serve to assess your abilities based on the PRS Methodology as the bases of the PRS Clinical Coach Credential and Coach Certification. Weâve polled our past students and have only had rave reviews about the exams in terms of enhancing the learning process and also allowing you to see where youâre struggling so you can get help in the Q&As and 1-on-1 coaching calls.
+ What is the difference between the PRS Coaching Certificate (PRSC) & Clinical Coach Credential (PRSCC)?
The difference between the two is the level of education the coach has received prior to taking our courses. The PRSCC is designated for individuals who have a clinical doctorate in physical therapy, chiropractics, medicine, osteopathic medicine, or occupational therapy. Registered Dietitians and Physical Therapy Assistance are also eligible for the PRSCC. The PRSCC has an additional course that focuses on integration of the PRS Method into clinical practice for rehabilitation, injury and illness. The PRSC is designed for individuals who do not have a clinical doctorate but are interested in integrating the athlete monitor system and injury risk reduction approaches on the PRS Method into their coaching practice. The credential and certification indicate that the holder has demonstrated competence in all of the PRS courses required to hold the title.
+ What is the purpose of the 1-on-1 Coaching Call?
The 1-on-1 coaching call is designed for you to get the help, guidance, or mentorship you need with the course work, your own clients, or next step in your career.
+ What if I donât like the course or donât find it valuable?
We have a 14-day money back guarantee if you are unsatisfied with the educational journey of the course. In order to be eligible you must attend 3 live lectures and complete all the course work. Please review our Terms And Conditions for explicit details about our 14-day money back guarantee.
+ Is there a community aspect?
YES! Not only do we have a Blackboard Facebook group that you will have lifetime access to, but we also have an online forum for course discussions. During the time your live course is running you will also have free access to the Clinical Coach Membership.
+ What is the Clinical Coach Membership?
This is a monthly membership program for coaches and clinicians interested in a community of like minded individuals and continuing education on a regular basis. Within the membership we host a 1.5 hour Live Lecture + Q&A (Clinical Round Table) of varying topics and guest speakers throughout the year. As a follow up to each Clinical Round Table, we host a live case study presentation around 2 weeks later. All the lectures are recorded and archived on the course. We also have a forum and research article archive on the site for you as well.
+ Will you be teaching us how to coach the lifts in Programming Fundamentals?
Technical Models is the course in which we break down the physical and psychological art of coaching lifters through learning the lifts, improving on and optimizing technique. Both Programming Fundamentals and Technical Models are part of the requirements for the PRSC and PRSCC.
PROGRAMMING FUNDAMENTALS IS ONLY AVAILABLE UNTIL TUESDAY, JUNE 2 AT 11:59PM EST.
